How To Help

Any donation made to the Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation, Inc. is tax deductible and there are several ways you or your organization may choose to donate funds.

Restricted Gifts:

If there is a specific program, educational enrichment opportunity or school you wish to support or fund, you may direct your donations for this specific activity or school. Donations may also be made to the following programs and scholarships:

  • Darlene L. Chaney Scholarship
  • Dr. Deborah Jewell-Sherman Scholarship for Education
  • Martin Agency Scholarship

Unrestricted Gifts:

The Foundation also seeks unrestricted gifts to support areas of emphasis developed in partnership with Richmond Public Schools and the School Board.

In addition to dollar donations, donors may also wish to consider contributing stock or securities to the Foundation.

The Richmond Public Schools works closely with DonorsChoose.org, a philanthropic clearing house that matches school, teacher and student needs with donor interest.  It includes a current list of requests from RPS teachers.  You may direct the Foundation to support a specific DonorsChoose initiative with your donation or, if you prefer, simply work directly with DonorsChoose through its web site.

Lastly, the Foundation can receive donations through United Way (#7647) and the Combined Federal Campaign.  Donors can designate the Foundation when they make their United Way pledge.

Please use our Make a Donation page to receive further information about your options and to let us know of specific educational objectives you would like to support.
