About Us

The Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation is managed by a Board of Trustees and works closely with the elected School Board and the Richmond Public Schools to support their efforts to provide educational excellence to the children of Richmond, their families and the broader Richmond community.

The Foundation targets efforts not covered by existing public funding.  By offering donors an effective way to support ongoing efforts identified by the Superindent, the Foundation works to improve the quality of life throughout our community.  Tax-deductible donations to the Foundation may be provided to support specific programs or as unrestricted funds that the Foundation will use in its four priority areas:

  • Academic enrichment
  • Professional development for teachers
  • Student scholarships
  • System-wide education initiatives

Richmond Public Schools is diligently working to increase student retention and on-time graduation rates.  To support this effort, the Foundation is developing a middle school initiative aimed to ensure that students have a valuable learning experience and continue their education through high school and beyond.
